Resistance & Protests
Isnt it time, we recheck our traditional notions of the Bhakt and what motivates them?
See this Amanpour interview which gives you a profile of the Bhakts of Trump! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dskVval50AE
You will find them more where the Rights of the have-nots, is out-pacing the Rights of the Haves. It is the "fear of the Great Replacement"

It is in this light we here need to check out the issues which engage this group in India. I feel many of the so called Bhakts came in with something and this is the time they they are vulnerable to decoding their reaction..
Most of it seems to be a reaction to Centre-Left intransigence.. There is a big crop of people who got disillusioned with the Left..
Many advertising and Management types also initially when for the Modi alternative. Even Prashant Kishore has been moving round the spectrum.. and now wants "to quit the space" when he "is up" indicating that he wanted to do it earlier..
So superimposed on the social psychology of caste based mobilisation , we seem to now have "secular castes". If the Opposition has to make any headway in run up to 2024, it will have to build a narrative which neutralise the reasons why these bhakt came to support support the current dispensation in the first place and quite a lot of this revovles around the perpetuating the myth that aspirational Inida can be trickle down to the common man under a Dabang Leader.. That is why the main response to the crisis of COVID, as well as the economy, farmers agitation, Polarisations etc, has been twisted by the toolkit as an attempt to spoil Modi's and thereby India's image abroad.

Ali Abu Awwad who, after being incarcerated as a 15 years old, was released and became part of the Palestine Authority in 1994, and was working towards the agreed goal of independent state in five years. This did not happen because of the continuation of military occupation, the political Palestinian failure. And because the intervention and international investment in the conflict, and not in our solution, there are some parties who are not willing to see peace in this land. and because of lack of engagement with civil society.https://youtube.com/embed/JPjZRzYSX3A?start=514&end=574 taken from Ahimsa Conversations

The people’s struggle in Thoothukudi has been fought over decades, to challenge Vedanta’s impunity to pollute the villages for its own profits. The historic mass agitation on 22nd May 2018, which was a culmination of 100 days of continuous protest, led to a lethal firing by the Tamil Nadu police. The one-sided firing killed 15 people, including 17-year-old minor Snowlin, and left hundreds injured. Instead of dialoguing with the people protesting against the illegal and polluting operation of the Copper Smelter plant, the State Govt resorted to excessive and unjustifiable force and vilification of the movement.

Poet Nandini Sen Mehra writes on grief and helplessness in "and night has come upon my land". Yet, she believes that this too shall pass. Her heartfelt words have been set to music by Anindya Mukherjee and sung by Sukanya Mukherjee.
At the forefront of India’s healthcare system, ASHA workers soldier on — unprotected and poorly paid https://www.thehindu.com/society/at-the-forefront-of-indias-healthcare-system-asha-workers-soldier-on-unprotected-and-poorly-paid/article31979010.ece
For every health scheme launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, it is women like Anita who step in to implement it at the grassroots level. From distributing iron tablets to checking on immunisation schedules of babies and pregnant women to carrying out periodic checks on TB patients, Anita’s job has expanded now to watching out for signs of COVID-19 and counselling people. She also keeps an eye on migrant workers who have returned after their livelihoods evaporated overnight. She ensures they are observing their quarantine period in the designated centres. Besides all this, she also disseminates pandemic precaution tips to her flock.
At the forefront of India’s healthcare system, which is now creaking under the weight of the pandemic, are nine lakh ASHA workers like Anita who are soldiering on — unarmed, unprotected and poorly paid. Their job is thankless.

They are told to conduct surveys, report cases, get medical help to the infected, monitor patients, follow up with recovered ones and so on. This is in addition to the vaccination duties for almost 8-9 hours a day,..ASHAs have been doing co-morbidity surveys since last year..We demand that the government pay Rs 300 per day..
Behind India’s coronavirus vaccine plan is an army of poorly paid female health workers https://qz.com/india/1957664/asha-workers-midwives-key-for-indias-coronavirus-vaccine-plan/
Under the NRHM (National Rural Health Mission) which was launched in 2005, the government of India recruited ASHA workers to connect the marginalised communities to health care. Approximately 9,00,000 ASHA workers in India, who act as a bridge between the government and people due to a human resource shortage in the health system, are working “for the nation” in these challenging times. Due to the dynamics associated with their job, they are playing multiple roles – of health care facilitators, health activists and service providers – putting their lives at risk. https://thewire.in/rights/asha-workers-coronavirus
