Explosive allegations made by Adani’s own lawyer could blow lid off Tamil Nadu solar scam Ramanathan S. February 29, 2016 https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/explosive-allegations-made-adani-s-own-lawyer-could-blow-lid-tamil-nadu-solar-scam-39587 the Adani group, in an unusual petition to the Madras High Court, sought to gag its own lawyer, Kabilan Manoharan of Ms KabiLaw Attorneys-at-law, after he threatened to publicize illegalities in the project unless his remuneration was increased. Taking cognizance of Adani group’s argument that all the information shared with Kabilan fell under attorney-client privilege, Justice KK Sasisharan of the HC ordered an interim injunction gagging the lawyer from speaking out against the client, noting that this was indeed prima facie blackmail by the lawyer...
..gist of the alleged violations listed out by Adani’s own lawyer, as quoted by the Madras HC order:
1. Illegal purchase of lands at the ground level.
2. Non-compliance with many regulations.
3. Illegal and fraudulent documentation submitted to meet TANGECO specifications for power-purchase agreement (PPA). The lawyer further says that it was on the basis of the PPA that loans amounting to Rs. 2300 crore were taken from IndusInd Bank, SBICaps and Standard Chartered.
4. Violation of SEBI regulations and listing agreements by non-disclosure of material information.

Mr. Rahul Bhutiani, Head – Sales & Marketing, Adani Solar, said,...The Indian renewable energy sector has witnessed tremendous success in the installation and supply of solar power. ... We will be offering power facilities via solar panel distribution to customers at competitive rates for applications in the Tamil Nadu market. .. Around 73% of AGEL’s total portfolio of around 20 GW is under-implementation, marked by operational to under-construction
assets ratio of 0.36:1. AGEL expects to commission projects of over 4 GW each, in FY22 and FY23, and 2 GW each, thereafter till
FY26. Large under-construction portfolio entails high project execution risk as any delay in project completion would lead to time
and cost overrun and its associated financing risks. However, given the modular nature of the operations of AGEL with integration
with its group entities for procurement of solar modules and construction of power evacuation infrastructure, along with its strong
execution capabilities and demonstrated track record of early commissioning of certain assets, mitigate the execution risk to an
extent. Furthermore, the expected commissioning of large capacities ahead of its schedule entails an infirm revenue, which is
part of overall capital budgeting. Any delay in commissioning of capacities beyond the envisaged timelines would increase the
reliance on internal accruals for project financing.

Anon in What's app : I don't trust the 6 member committee set up by CJ Chandrachud to look into the Adani Scam. All it will end up in, is a cover-up.
** Especially the 2 Bankers, OP Bhat, fmr SBI, was on the same flight to Australia (Coal Mines) withbModi and Adani, and under CBI lens for loans to Vijay Mallya.
** KV Kamath, fmr ICICI, now board of Reliance, was also under investigation for loans given under Chandra Kochar, of which Kamath too was a part. These loans then turned into NPAs.
** Nandan Nilekani, Infosys, is a corporate Honcho and is not going to go against the Modi-Adani combine, no Corporate house can, without fear of ED/IT raids, fear of retribution.
** The other 3 on the panel, namely, former Supreme Court judge AM Sapre, Justice retd. JP Devinder and Somshekar Sundaresan a lawyer with expertise in security laws.
** About Sunderasan, from what I've heard from an important source, is not good either. AM Sapre does not know much about financial security matters, is another input received.
** The only person truly welcoming the committee is Adani himself.
SB In WA: Justice AM Sapre is a right wing judge.
GS: Oh lord nobody is saying anything about the committee members unless I have missed something
As someone said in one of the YouTube discussions
The terms of reference of the committee do not include the issue of money laundering
The thrust seems to be on whether any security laws have been violated
SS in WA: Apart from scanning the trackrecords of individual members -- important as it is -- more fundamental is the fact that in today's ambience of intimidation and terror, no "decent" one would be ready to be a part of any such committee and thereby risk one's neck.
Only those who would like to ingratiate with the regime and look upon this as a useful opportunity will come forward.
That's precisely what had happened with the Pegasus. Incidentally, had anticipated in advance when the then CJI was rather desperately looking for "experts".
<<The move is, no doubt, highly welcome.
And commendable too - given that, these days, it takes some guts - even on the part of the highest court of the land, to take some plainly sensible decision.
The only apprehension is that, under the obtaining circumstances, the "expert" members, on the committee, may feel too insecure to give an opinion - howsoever justified, which may displease - let alone anger, the regime in place.
That quite a few "experts" approached by the Court have indicated disinclination - to join the contemplated committee, perhaps testifies to that perception.
This sense of panic is far from without any basis.
In fact, the most glaring and illustrative example is that of Ashok Lavasa - a former member of the Election Commission, who got, eventually, hounded out of that august body with liberal use of the proverbial "stick" and, finally, some "carrot" too. Had he been there, he'd have been the CEC today. Mr. Lavasa's crime, as it appears, was that he had been inclined to take independent stands, regardless of whether these would be liked by the regime.
At a very different end, yet another is that the mobile number of the (faceless) woman stuff attached to the then CJI, Ranjan Gogoi, who had lodged a complaint of sexual harassment by her boss, (allegedly) figures in the leaked Pegasus data bank together with those of her close relations.
Under the circumstances, unless the Court can provide some sort of legitimate protection to the prospective members from the very real threat of being harassed - to put it rather mildly, in future, it may so happen that only those who are in search of an opportunity to get into the good books of the regime may actually queue up.
That would defeat the purported purpose.>>
An Emirati businessman recurs in the Adani group's offshore dealings https://qz.com/an-emirati-businessman-recurs-in-the-adani-groups-offsh-1850136406 Samanth Subramanian .
Within the corporate network of India’s Adani group, the names of some people pop up again and again, linked to multiple offshore entities of unclear purpose or labyrinthine structure.
Chang Chung-Ling, a Chinese executive, figured in the Hindenburg report as a director of several Adani firms.
Sanjay Newatia, an ex-banker in London who, according to the Pandora Papers, used to help a wealthy Indian lobbyist conduct offshore transactions, and who is now the sole director in 57 Adani companies registered in the UK.
Nasser Ali Shaban Ahli, a businessman who runs Al Jawda Trade & Services, a consultancy in Dubai. Ahli’s name has appeared in at least two Indian investigations into alleged money laundering by the Adani group. Ahli is listed in Chinese records as the director of Beijing Basile, a company that exports industrial parts exclusively to Adani Power in India. Beijing Basile is so closely connected to the Adani group that one of its Shanghai-based employees, on LinkedIn, says he has worked for the Adani group for the last 15 years.
