Ravish Kumar Official Jan 9, 2025 Rona Wilson and Sudhir Dhawale have been granted bail after six and a half years in the Bhima Koregaon case. Both were kept in jail for six and a half years without any trial. Others are still in jail in this case. The NIA finally did not oppose the bail plea of Rona Wilson and Sudhir Dhawale who had been fighting for bail for so many years. Can any agency or court bring back their time? Is this not a matter of shame for our society and the judicial process? Similarly, Prof GN Saibaba was kept in jail for ten years. After coming out of jail, his weakened body deserted him. Stan Swamy died in jail. Rona Wilson has been accused of planting fake evidence in his computer. Other people accused in the Bhima Koregaon case have also alleged that evidence was planted in their computers. If all this is not a matter of concern for you then what is.
Supreme Court shocked over bail plea pending in Allahabad High Court for 4 years https://www.barandbench.com/news/supreme-court-shocked-bail-plea-pending-allahabad-high-court-4-years https://www.greaterkashmir.com/national/supreme-court-expresses-shock-over-4-year-delay-in-allahabad-high-court-bail-plea/#google_vignette
Imran’s bail plea had been adjourned 16 times in the High Court. The council also pointed out that the co-accused in the case had already been granted bail. Seeking relief, Chaudhary requested interim bail for his client. However, the Supreme Court declined to entertain the plea, noting that the trial in the case was nearing completion.
“Perhaps, what is now left could be the recording of the further statement of the petitioner-accused under Section 313 of the Cr.P.C. and the final arguments,” the Court observed.
Is setting up protest site enough to attract UAPA, asks Delhi HC https://www.hindustantimes.com/cities/delhi-news/is-setting-up-protest-site-enough-to-attract-uapa-asks-delhi-hc-101736416698197.html Nupur Thapnil By Shruti Kakkar Jan 09, 2025
“Is it your case that only setting up a protest site is enough for UAPA or those protest sites resulted in violence? But the most important thing is intent under UAPA which has to be established. See you cut down the conspiracy, the conspiracy there is a WhatsApp group and in these groups, there are instigations that ‘let’s do this’, a planning which is of a chakka jam,” the bench asked Prasad.
It added, “There is also a hint of violence… which actually happens. Till then, if they are involved, you may say UAPA is attracted. But when you draw attention to something like JACT (Whatsapp group), your own argument is that they were organising protest sites. Is that good enough?”
Evidence found on a second Indian activist’s computer was planted, report says https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2021/07/06/bhima-koregaon-case-india/ An unidentified attacker used malicious software to infiltrate the two computers and deposited dozens of files in hidden folders on the devices, Arsenal said. Investigators later cited the documents as incriminating evidence linking the activists to a banned Maoist militant group that aims to overthrow the government.
