The votes were counted and the results were declared on 8 December 2022. The Bharatiya Janata Party won a super majority of 156 seats, the most ever won by any party in Gujarat's history. This can be confirmed by the fact that absolute number of voters who voted for each phase 1-5 have not been published by the ECI till

Now (rejecting earlier practice of sharing this) and inordinate delays in issuing Form 17C to the candidates. In Pondicherry, one of the candidates has been refused Form 17C saying that it will be given on the counting day June 4. He has now filed a case in Supreme Court. Also, the Voting % for each Phase 1-3 was released on April 30, after unexplainable delay.

Due to these “extra bogus votes”, (sample for two states given below), the balance has been tilted in favour of the BJP, since the winning margins are normally 26,000-50,000 votes for a candidate on average in a normal PC with 18-20 lac voters (considering 55% voter turnout). Hence, BJP stands to WIN huge number of seats in opposition states and where it was expecting lose.
