Kisan Sansads at the Parliament throughout the Monsoon Session - Preparations progressing well - Farmer contingents reaching different morchas from various states of India: SKM

Stand-off with Sirsa administration continues in Haryana - Indefinite hunger fast enters Day 4 today

From tomorrow, Samyukt Kisan Morcha's contingents of two hundred farmers each would reach Jantar Mantar to protest against the government, and hold their own Kisan Sansads on each working day of the Parliament, until the Monsoon Session ends. Preparations are underway for the same.

In Kerala, in solidarity with the Kisan Sansads in front of the Parliament from tomorrow, the Karshaka Prakshobha Aikyadhardya Samithi will hold dharnas in front of Union Government offices in all 14 district headquarters and at block level. 2 batches of farmers have left for Delhi to join the Parliament Protests. Similarly, contingents of farmers are reaching from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other distant states too.

More farmers are reaching protest sites every day, to further strengthen the movement. Yesterday, a large contingent of farmers in a long convoy led by BKU Chaduni left from Yamunanagar. Similar mobilisations are happening to other protest sites too.

In Sirsa, the indefinite hunger fast of Sardar Baldev Singh Sirsa entered Day 4 today. Protestors, as announced beforehand, blocked the highway at three different points for two hours this morning. These include Bhavdeen and Khuian Malkana toll plazas and Panjuana village, where protestors did a highway jam from 9am to 11am. SKM demands that the government should withdraw cases and release arrested colleagues immediately.

It is noteworthy that the BJP State President of Rajasthan Satish Poonia was greeted with black flag protests in Alwar yesterday. The anger and indignation of farmers is spreading at the callous attitude of BJP against farmers and this is bound to spread to more places, SKM warns BJP.

Today, to mark the Martyrs' Memorial of farmers who were killed in police firing in Nargund in Gadag district of Karnataka in 1980, Ghazipur morcha had Karnataka farmer leaders of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) participating.

Reflecting the spirit of this historical movement, differently-abled farmer Malkit Singh from Yamunanagar, Haryana reached Singhu Border yesterday. He says that he is ready to do any sewa required for the struggle and is willing to give up his life for the same.
