In a February 2022 interview, Booker Prize-winning author Arundhati Roy told Karan Thapar that the people of India have had enough of the Narendra Modi government's authoritarian policies, and are beginning to resist the march towards fascism. The BJP and RSS, she argued, were intrinsically fascist in their ideology – but that ideology had reached a saturation point among the people of India.
