The Court which has issued notices to the governments of UP, Uttarakhand and MP, observed that these directives could infringe the secular character of the Republic of India. The states have till Friday to respond. The supreme court setback came on a day when the opposition targeted the government for changing a decades old order that restricted government officials from associating with the RSS.
