Remember how Shivsena UBT candidate from NW Mumbai was declared lost mysteriously by only 48 votes?

It’s been 8 days since results but no FIR registered yet despite multiple complaints

Mumbai Police is now alleging that Election Commission’s RO is not letting them register an FIR

Apparently CCTV cameras are also missing & RO is not cooperating with Mumbai Police.

SS UBT’s Amol Kirtikar was leading on most of the phases but suddenly Shinde Sena candidate was declared winner

Prior to that, SS candidate’s relative was caught using phone inside counting centre, yet no FIR registered yet.

With so many cases of such rigging coming up, will Supreme Court intervene atleast now?

Question lack of CCTV footage, presence of ‘Waikar's kin’ in counting area

WA: LJ:  The election commission RO’s fishy behaviour for the 2 hours when no rounds were declared after kirtikar’s lead and finally Waikar was declared, is extremely suspicious. Also they were relying on cctv footage to show all this, the phone calls and their refusal to provide any information, declare, register people’s objections. Now they are not even providing the footage.

The election commission has played big mischief these elections in some constituencies, we need to hold them accountable. How can the cctv footage disappear? And when they were asked to register complaints on the spot during counting by several candidates they did not take them into consideration and proceeded to declare.

Updated on: 11 May,2024 Speaking with reporters at his election campaign office in Jogeshwari on Thursday, Waikar said, “After allegations were made against me [in connection with the construction of a luxury hotel], I met Economic Offences Wing and Enforcement Directorate officials and explained how the allegations were false. Later, I met Uddhav-ji thrice and told him we needed to find a way out. I even told him the only way to solve the problem was to call the Prime Minister. Uddhav-ji replied that he couldn’t do anything about it and would have to deal with it myself.”

MLA and former minister Ravindra Waikar’s exit brings the Shiv Sena (UBT)’s strength in the Maharashtra assembly down to 15

https://www.theweek.in/wire-updates/national/2024/01/29/bom22-mh-ed-waikar.html The money laundering probe of the ED stems from an FIR of Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police in which it was alleged that Waikar illegally obtained approval for the construction of a five star hotel on a civic plot reserved for a garden.
As per the FIR, this caused a huge loss to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
The ED had conducted searches at seven locations, including premises of MLA Waikar and some of his partners, as part of the probe.
