China the Glue Driving India, US Ties; Biden Betting on Modi St https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy7lF4LEYZA    Siddharth Varadarajan spoke to India’s former National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to the US, the deals signed, the politics and economics involved, and China's role in bringing the two nations together

But one major concern can be hard to shrug off:- US has immense strategic gain in inciting a sub nuclear military conflict between India & China thus bogging down China in its neighbourhood while it's already encircling china by QUAD, AUKUS & US allies like Japan, South Korea, Singapore.
Not only will it reduce our diplomatic manouevrability but force us further to be dependent on American aid with any russian support unlikely. In the long run being dependent on US logistical chains for such sensitive tech further enhances the risk of being strong armed to obey US interests. They have a history of leveraging key tech like shutting GPS access in Kargil war.

The exact same grand strategy has been replicated in Ukraine of the Euromaidan coup of 2014 in Ukraine that was followed by 8 yrs of planning culminating in what's clearly a russian strategic defeat & obliteration of russian sphere of influence. Merkel & others have now openly admitted to the fact that the Minsk Agreement was just cover for Ukraine being prepared for war. It's US that has obviously gained the most at the cost of Ukrainian lives.
A similar intention may not be brushed off as completely conspirational.

While it is most certainly true that this is no 62, Indian armed forces are far more capable & well equipped with military edge in the Tibetan highlands due to access to high altitude airfields. It's rational to accept that it will be asymmetric warfare for us against the Chinese.
Therefore if the door is wide open, an overtly rosy deal is being offered:- in the long run an equally prickly payback might some day be demanded.
