In his broadcast on June 6, Chaudhary said two of the boys were from Ghaziabad and one each from Faridabad and Chandigarh. According to Chaudhary, they were purportedly “lured to believe that by memorising the aayats of the Quran, they can win online games, that by adopting Islam, miracles will happen in their lives”.

The parent of one of the other two teenagers told Newslaundry her son has never interacted with Baddo, (the socalled insitgatot, who sold some “computer parts” to one Rohan, two years ago.) Instead, her son’s phone number was mentioned in the FIR because his number was found on Rohan’s mobile phone. The parent also said it was Rohan, not a mysterious Muslim man online, who tried to coax her son into showing an interest in Islam.
