सोमनाथ सूर्यवंशी यांचा न्यायालयीन कोठडीत मृत्यू झाल्याच्या निषेधार्थ परभणी ते मुंबईपर्यंत लॉन्ग मार्च काढण्यात आला होता. शासनाच्या दडपशाही व नाकर्तेपणाच्या निषेधार्थ परभणी आणि इतर मराठवाड्यातील दलित आणि पुरोगामी कार्यकर्ते न्याय हक्कासाठी १७ जानेवारीपासून मुंबई च्या दिशेने मोर्चा घेऊन निघाले. ते १६-१७ फेब्रुवारीला मुंबईला पोचतील अशी शक्यता वर्तवण्यात आली. याकरिता  मुंबईतील सर्व दलित आणि इतर पुरोगामी संघटनां तसेच डावे पक्षांनी एकत्र येऊन परभणीहून निघालेल्या मोर्चात सहभागी होण्यासाठी मुंबईत जनजागृती मोहीम सुरु केली होती.  

 मुंबईसह उपनगरात या मोहिमेला वाढता प्रतिसाद मिळत असलेला पाहून सरकारने आश्वासनावर बोळवण करून हा मोर्चा नाशिकलाच स्थगित केला.  भाजप आमदार सुरेश धस आणि राज्यमंत्री मेघना बोर्डीकर यांनी याकामी मध्यस्थी केली. सर्व मागण्या पुर्ण करण्यात येतील या आश्वासनानंतर लॉन्ग मार्च नाशिक येथे स्थगित करण्यात आला. मात्र त्यानंतर सुरेश धस यांनी या प्रकरणात गुन्हे दाखल करण्याची मागणी संयुक्तिक होणार नाही, असे म्हटले. यावरून आंबेडकरी अनुयायांमध्ये प्रचंड संताप व्यक्त होत आहे. विरोधकांनी सुरेश धस यांच्यावर ॲट्रॉसिटीचा गुन्हा दाखल करण्याची मागणी केली आहे.

भीम आर्मीचे राष्ट्रीय महासचिव अशोक कांबळे यांनी म्हटले आहे की, भारतीय जनता पार्टीचे आमदार सुरेश धस यांनी वक्तव्य केले की, सोमनाथ सूर्यवंशी यांना ज्या पोलिसांना मारले, त्यांना एक संधी द्या, त्यांना माफ करा, त्यांच्यावर गुन्हा दाखल करण्याची मागणी करू नका. या वक्तव्याचा आम्ही जाहीर निषेध करतो. , या आमदाराने आमचा लॉन्ग मार्च चिरडण्याचं काम केलं आहे, एक षड्यंत्र केलेले आहे. यामुळे आमच्या भावना दुखावलेल्या आहेत. त्यामुळे मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी सुरेश धस यांच्यावर तत्काळ ॲट्रॉसिटीचा गुन्हा दाखल करावा. सुरेश धस महाराष्ट्राची जाहीर माफी मागत नाहीत, तोपर्यंत त्यांना महाराष्ट्र फिरू देणार नाही.

File a case of atrocity against Suresh Dhas immediately

A long march was taken out from Parbhani to Mumbai to protest the death of Somnath Suryavanshi in judicial custody. To protest the government's oppression and inaction, Dalit and progressive activists from Parbhani and other Marathwada started a march towards Mumbai from January 17 for justice. It was expected that they would reach Mumbai on February 16-17. For this, all the Dalit and other progressive organizations in Mumbai and the Left parties had come together and started an awareness campaign in Mumbai to participate in the march that started from Parbhani.


Seeing the increasing response to this campaign in Mumbai and the suburbs, the government broke its promise and postponed the march to Nashik. BJP MLA Suresh Dhas and Minister of State Meghna Bordikar mediated in this matter. After the assurance that all the demands would be fulfilled, the long march was postponed in Nashik.
However, Suresh Dhas later said that the demand for filing a case in this case would not be unanimous. This has caused immense anger among Ambedkar followers. The opposition has demanded that a case of atrocity be filed against Suresh Dhas.

Bhim Army National General Secretary Ashok Kamble has said that Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Suresh Dhas made a statement that the police who killed Somnath Suryavanshi should be given a chance, forgive them, and not demand that a case be filed against them. We publicly condemn this statement. This MLA has worked to crush our long march, a conspiracy has been hatched. This has hurt our sentiments. Therefore, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should immediately file a case of atrocity against Suresh Dhas. Until Suresh Dhas publicly apologizes to Maharashtra, Maharashtra will not allow him to roam around.
