Delhi HC Contempt Notice Against Wikimedia Foundation https://freespeechcollective.in/delhi-hc-contempt-notice-against-wikimedia-foundation/
September 6, 2024  What ANI wants to know is the name of the "volunteer editors".  But what the editors have done is to give the source of their reports.. The only conclusion that I can draw from this is the ANI wants to "idenitfy" (for what purpose) these editors..

The offending para:

1. ANI has been accused of having served as a propaganda tool for the incumbent central government, it gave reference as

a)Donthi, Praveen (1 March 2019). "The Image Makers : How ANI Reports The Government's Version Of Truth". The Caravan. Archived from https://web.archive.org/web/20230208225504/https://caravanmagazine.in/reportage/ani-reports-government-version-truth

The "defamatory" page on ANI : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_News_International

Most important issue is we live in a global information world, where as "world citizens" people volunteer to edit.. and Wikipedia is one organisation which has a transparent set of rules  representing global governance. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-32412121  If there is an objection to any contribution, anyone can volunteer a correction and and open tranparent pool of editors will opine on it.  Can this be said about the way this case is being handled?   Just quoting from one of the reports: Hearing ANI’s plea that Wikipedia had failed to comply with the order, the judge said, “If you don’t like India, don’t work here”, the judge said. The judge further remarked that it would “ask Wikipedia to close its business transactions in India and will ask the government to block Wikipedia here.”
